Teatro Jornalero
El Rescate supports the work of the Teatro Jornalero, a Los Angeles-based ensemble of day laborers with the mission to educate workers about their rights: “to improve the lives of day laborers through the creation of plays by and about day laborers.”
The Historic Archives
In August 2019 El Rescate donated its historic archives to California State University Northridge (CSUN) Oviatt Library Special Collections. The resource now available to students and scholars includes primary source material for the Index to Accountability, daily chronologies, reports and analysis (1985-1994), Spanish and English clippings (1981-1994) and more. Projects in El Salvador
The Clínica was established in 2017 as a model to provide medical and psychological services to vulnerable “returnees,” deportees and to families displaced by violence. The clinic assists an average of 30-40 patients a month and has working partnerships with Doctors Without Borders, International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Rescue Committee, the Iglesia Reformada, the Anglican and Lutheran churches and others. The Clinic is funded by Glasswing Foundation and Conmigrante.
